Poor stain resistance

Poor Stain Resistance

This refers to the failure of the paint to resist the absorption of dirt and stains.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

  • Using a lower-quality paint that is porous in nature.
  • Applying paint to an unprimed surface.

SOLUTION
Higher-quality water-based paints contain a higher concentration of binder than their low-quality counterparts. This helps to prevent stains from penetrating the painted surface, making them easier to remove.

New surfaces that have been primed and painted with a premium-quality topcoat offer very good stain removal qualities, due to the thickness of the resulting paint film.
